According to the White House, Iranian soldiers were present in the Russian-occupied Crimean Peninsula to assist Russian forces in launching drone operations against Ukraine.
According to White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, “our estimates are that Iranian military troops were on the ground in Crimea and assisted Russia in these activities.”
Kirby claimed that the Russians were in charge of the marches that severely damaged the infrastructure of Ukraine and that the Iranians in Crimea were trained and technical support personnel.
He continued, “Tehran is now directly participating on the ground and is supplying weapons that have an impact on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
He continued, “The United States will make all means to uncover, deter and confront Iran’s supply of these ammunition against the Ukrainian people.
“We will keep enforcing all US sanctions against the export of Russian and Iranian weaponry,” Kirby declared.
