Washington: Iranian forces in Crimea to support Russia with drones

The White House revealed on Thursday that Iranian troops were present in the Russian-controlled Crimea, assisting Russian forces in attacking Ukrainian aircraft.
According to White House National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby, “our estimates are that Iranian military troops were on the ground in Crimea and assisted Russia in these activities.”

According to Kirby, the Russians were in charge of organising the marches that severely damaged the infrastructure of Ukraine, while the Iranians in Crimea served as trained and technical support personnel.
He added: “Tehran is now directly involved on the ground, and by providing weapons that affect the influence of civilians and civil infrastructure in Ukraine.

“The United States will take every precaution to detect, deter, and oppose Iran’s supply of deadly weapons against the Ukrainian people,” he stated.
We will keep enforcing all US sanctions against the export of Russian and Iranian arms.
The United States revealed for the first time this summer that Russia is buying Iranian planes march to launch in Ukraine. Iran denied selling its munitions to Russia on its end.

In light of the fact that the Russians were unfamiliar with Iranian-made aircraft, US authorities suspect that Iran may have sent military personnel to assist them in some capacity.
According to the conclusions of the American intelligence that were made public, the Russians encountered technical issues with Iranian drones soon after acquiring them in August of last year.
In this regard, Kirby stated: “The identical systems were experiencing difficulties and evidently did not operate in accordance with the requirements that the buyers signed.

To assist the Russians in using them more lethally, the Iranians decided to transfer certain coaches and technical support.
Kirby also emphasised that Washington is thinking about sanctioning Tehran again. He added that the administration of President Joe Biden will search for ways that make it difficult for Tehran to sell such weapons to Russia.
In another context, Kirby said that Washington was no longer focused on diplomacy and nuclear conversations with Iran at this stage.

Ned Price, a spokesman for the US State Department, said on Thursday that Washington has come to the conclusion that Iranian military personnel are in the Crimea helping the Russian military use drones built in Tehran to carry attacks across Ukraine.

Iranian soldiers will use drones to assist Russia in Crimea, according to Washington
