News of the Ministry of Communications’ introduction has circulated on various websites and social media pages, where it has propagated electronic programmes for mobile phones that provide financial loans to residents.
The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was contacted by the Council of Ministers’ Media Center, which confirmed that these reports were false and that the ministry had not launched any electronic applications for mobile phones to provide loans to citizens. All of the electronic applications that have been circulated in this regard are fake and have no connection to the ministry.
The ministry explained that no other platform, other than Egypt’s digital platform, which is concerned with digital government services, does not have any applications to grant loans. The ministry advised citizens not to deal with these applications and warned that legal action would be taken against those who promote them.
