Tunisian Minister of Employment: The government has no intention to raise support

Nasruddin Al-Nusibi, the minister of employment and vocational training in Tunisia, reaffirmed today, Thursday, that the government has no plans to win more popular support.

In press statements cited by the Tunisian News Agency (Watt) today, Thursday, Al-Nusaibi stated: “The government is seeking within the axes of the National Program for Reforms, to govern the support of the support system and direct it to its actual entitlements,” highlighting that the real goal of the government from the reform programme is to advance production and investigation More growth rates, and open new business areas.

Al-Nusibi stated that in order to achieve these objectives, the national programme for economic reforms must be put into action, as well as public institution governance, the development of the tax system, and an improvement in the business and investment climate. He also noted that the financing for the reform programme will come from a loan with the International Monetary Fund that is anticipated to reach the end of its final stage in December of this year and total $1.9 billion.

The National Program for Reforms was presented by the Tunisian government at the end of September last year. Its main axes include enhancing the principles of fair competition, reforming the tax code, advancing digitization, valuing human capital, improving the performance and efficiency of the public sector, and reforming the basic support system for material needs as well as the hydrocarbon support system.
