Travis Scott and the family of an Astroworld victim have secretly resolved their legal dispute.
In November 2021, the 31-year-old rapper was performing as the headlining act at the Astroworld Festival in Houston, Texas, when a massive crowd crush killed 10 people close to the stage.
Scott, along with promoters Live Nation, is said to have reached a settlement regarding the death of Axel Acosta, the “beloved son” of the Acosta family, who passed away at the age of 21.
Tony Buzbee, a lawyer, posted on Instagram: “The Buzbee Law Firm announced today that the claims brought by the family of Axel Acosta against Travis Scott, Live Nation, and other parties involved in the Astroworld tragedy have settled.” He did not specify the specifics of the agreement. The details are private. Axel Acosta, the victim, was a cherished son, brother, and pupil. He was loving and compassionate. He will be sorely missed. Please remember to pray for his family.
The lawsuit stated that Scott’s supporters had simply attended the event “for enjoyment” and that no one had informed the families that their loved ones had entered a “hazardous scenario.”
They stated that the performer had a “history” of using his lyrics to incite violence and urging followers to rush the stage in an attempt to get past security.
Although it has been reported that he did not participate in the discussions surrounding the settlement with the Acosta family, the Goosebumps hitmaker claimed that he had “lost his family” as a result of the deaths and is still facing a number of other lawsuits regarding the incident that resulted in thousands of injuries.
