The Swiss Public Prosecutor appeals against Blatter and Platini’s innocence

Joseph Blatter, a former FIFA President, and Michelle Platini, a former European Union representative, were brought back into the case by the Swiss Prosecutor against the Swiss Patent for the game (UEFA).
After appearing before the Federal Criminal Court in Pelinsona, where the verdict was made public last July, Blatter and Platini were found not guilty of any of the charges brought against them.

The Swiss authorities made additional claims against the former officials over the two million Swiss francs (one million and 990,000 USD) paid by Blatterini in 2011.
Balatar was accused with forging documents and participating in unlawful ownership and management, while Platini was charged with forging documents and participating in illegal ownership and management.

Blatter and Platini insisted there had been no breach, and the court ruled in their favour.
The Swiss Prosecutor chose to appeal the decision, so the case was not yet done.
In a statement released today, Thursday, the Swiss Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that it has requested a veto of the decision.

The statement continued, “We can underline that throughout the legal term, the Prosecutor’s Office submitted an appeal request to the Appeals Chamber of the Federal Criminal Court with the request to entirely invalidate the preliminary ruling.
“There is no additional information available on the appeal announcement’s content. All those involved in the procedure are presumed innocent “.
