Due to its vagueness and lack of understanding, the phrase “columns of creation,” which was introduced on the new photographs sent by the James Web telescope, caused a great deal of criticism.
Images from the James Web space telescope depict millions of bright stars encircling enormous brown and orange hues in the wide universe. At the ends of some columns in the image are also highly red areas that resemble volcanic lava.
This scene, which dates back only a few hundred thousand years, is what the US space agency NASA described in a statement as “star projectiles in the process of formation.” It added that these “stars periodically launched eliminations that exceed the speed of sound and collide with withdrawal from materials such as these dense columns.”
The fact that it depicts the development of stars is how “Creation Pillars” got its name.
These columns are situated “in the Milky Way galaxy, specifically in the nebula, at a distance of 6,500 light years from the Earth.
James Web’s boss, Klaus Pontophidan, director of the science program at the Spice Telescope Science Institute, said in a tweet, “We had to, at a communal request, force James Web snap images of the columns of creation.”
The new image, according to NASA, “will assist researchers examine their models for the birth of stars, by identifying them more accurately for the newly born stars as well as the amount of gas and dust in this region.
James Web is roughly 1.5 million kilometres away from the earth and released his first colourful photographs in July. The study of star life cycles, in addition to the study of planets outside the solar system, is one of the principal objectives of the telescope.
