Officer: Russia refuses to promote false news

Fyodor Straggovsky, a spokesman for the UN Permanent Mission to the UN, criticised UN representatives for spreading false, “rude” news and emphasised that Moscow views this as unacceptable.

At a meeting of the UN General Assembly’s Fourth Committee on Thursday, Strgovsky stated, “We believe that the promotion of the United Nations representatives is fake news that has not been checked and even sometimes is quite rude and touched by silliness, it is inappropriate.”

The diplomat, for example, referred to “the recent statement of the United Nations representative of sexual violence, Pramela Patten, regarding alleged sexual crimes committed by the Russian army” in Ukrain.
“The introduction of such drivel raises questions about the degree of experience of UN officials who make assertions that are not substantiated by facts,” he stated.

Stegegovsky also referred to the “extraordinary media aggression” that the West as a whole is aiming at Russia and other nations that follow a different course of international affairs.
