Mikati: The complications of the political and economic situation in Lebanon take the largest part of the government’s effort

Lebanese caretaker head, Naguib Mikati, stressed that the complications of the political, economic and financial situation in Lebanon take the largest effort, thinking and work of the government.
Mikati said that in order to address the effects of the crises that have devastated Lebanon over the past three years, the essential treatment for children’s mental health needs to get off to a quick start.

Due of the Koruna pandemic’s concomitant economic and financial collapse on the one hand and the horrifying bombing of Beirut Port, which resulted in thousands of injuries in addition to dozens of fatalities, Mikati claimed that Lebanon bore the heaviest burden of this adverse effect.

He continued by saying that the unprecedented bombing, the economic and financial collapse, and the long lines outside of banks, gas stations, and bakeries had a significant psychological impact on young people. In many cases, these young people’s families were also in the lines, even if they weren’t actually in them.

Mikati urged the Ministry of Education to work to create a three-year, exclusive strategic plan for mental health in schools in collaboration with all parties and sectors, as well as with donor nations, local and international organizations, civil society institutions, and anyone else who wants to see this plan succeed.

Mikati: The difficulties with Lebanon’s political and economic circumstances consume the majority of the government’s effort.
