India is fined Google 162 million dollars due to monopolistic practices

According to a statement made late on Thursday by the Indian Competition Authority, Google has designed its platform in such a way that it can obstruct competitors like YouTube and Chrome from using it.

The authority continued that the Google-designed “Android” operating system comes pre-installed on mobile devices with a number of its own programs, including its search engine, which “offered a larger competitive feature for Google’s search services compared to its competitors.”
“The markets should compete based on their efficiency,” she emphasized, “and Google must ensure that its policies do not undermine this competition.
The Authority levied a 13-dollar fine.
