After Liz Terrase announced her resignation as British Prime Minister, Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, expressed his optimism that stability would soon return to the country.
This stability is “essential to us and for Europe,” said Macron upon his arrival at the Thursday summit of European leaders in Brussels.
He added that he had recently spoken with Tarras and said that during the previous weeks “a working relationship was formed” between France and Britain.
Macron, though, steadfastly declined to comment on the terrace’s departure. Because of their divergent views on immigration, hunting, and Britain’s exit from the European Union, it is significant that France and Britain have recently had tense relations.
