Zellinski: We will defend Ukraine, whatever enemy plans

Folodimir Zellinski, the president of Ukraine, emphasised that “his forces will protect the country, whatever the enemy’s actions and plans” in response to the recent escalation of Russian attacks on several regions of his country. He was referring to Russia.
Following a security conference with Ukrainian officials today, on Wednesday, he declared in words that “Ukraine will defend itself.”

A strategic discussion on the security of energy supply facilities was also convened, he continued, noting that the authorities are attempting to set up mobile power stations to feed cities and towns whose infrastructure has suffered significant damage.
Zelinski stated yesterday that 30% of the nation’s power plants were damaged as a result of the Russian attacks.

While Kyiv confirmed that more than 1,100 towns are still without electricity, noting that up to 4000 towns have seen a break of electricity since October 7.
She admitted the bombing of energy infrastructure sites but stated that high-resolution missiles were used in the attacks.

It is significant that since last week, Russian forces have stepped up their attacks on Ukrainian territory, particularly in Kyiv. This has been seen as retaliation for the attack on the Crimea Bridge, which links the Russian mainland to the semi-island that Russia annexed to its territory in 2014.

These attacks also came after a stumbling of the Russian army in the north and east of the country, and the regions of the southern Ukrainian as well, in the face of the counter -attack launched by the Ukrainian forces a few weeks ago in order to recover dozens of areas that have been for months in the grip of the Russians, and have made remarkable progress in many points before I It slightly cools down.

Zellinski: No matter what the adversary prepares, we will protect Ukraine.
