The Spanish Federation punishes Barcelona club president Laporta

The Spanish Football Association Competitions Committee decided to sign a fine for Barcelona club president Juan Laporta, for entering the referees room after the El Clásico match against Real Madrid, last Sunday.
At the top of the ninth round of the Spanish League, Barcelona was defeated 1-3 by its longtime rivals.

Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez, the referee, stated in his referee report that Laporta stormed the referees’ dressing room following the meeting and demanded an explanation of some of the decisions he had made, such as declining to award a penalty to Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski in the closing seconds.

According to the Spanish publication “Mundo Deportivo,” Laporta was fined by the Spanish Football Association Competitions Committee for disobeying commands or instructions, in accordance with Article 133 of the Discipline Law.
The Competitions Committee has approved the minimum fine, which is only 150 euros, as it is the first time that Laporta has received such a sanction.
