Mason Greenwood, a member of Manchester United of the English Premier League, was freed on Wednesday following a special hearing in the case charging him of attempting to rape and attack a woman.
Authorities detained the 21-year-old in January after a lady posted images and videos on social media criticising her experience with physical abuse.
A 21-year-old male was arrested last Saturday after being accused by the Greater Manchester Police of acting in an authoritarian and bullying manner, attempting to rape a woman, and assaulting a woman.
The player or any of their representatives never responded to the accusations.
By a decision of the club that made a statement last Saturday, the player is still in custody.
The statement stated: It grew to the flag of Manchester United that the Royal Prosecution Service brought criminal charges against Mason Greenwood. He continues to be detained by the club’s decision while waiting for the outcome of the legal proceedings.
