The Minister of Culture re -launching the gold voice competition and creates a major prize

After a two-year hiatus, Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, decided to revive the gold vote competition in its sixth session, which is run by the Cultural Development Fund sector, in support of the Egyptian government’s initiatives to foster emerging lyrical talents across the nation.

In addition, it was instructed to establish a significant prize in the late singer Mohsen Farouk’s honour, in honour of his talent and his role in founding the competition. He was also one of the first members of the Arab Music Ensemble at the Egyptian Opera House, and he was one of the knights defending Egypt’s musical identity and heritage.

The contestant must be an Egyptian national, belong to the youth category, be between the ages of 18 and 38, and offer a heritage song alongside another song of the contestant’s choice. The choices are made in two phases, the first of which involves the contestant being introduced by the head of the fund sector. Requests to participate in the sixth session will be accepted between October 20 and November 20.

Submission can be made by picking up a subscription form at the Cultural Development Fund’s “Opera Land” headquarters, one of the fund’s retail locations, or online at www.cdf.gov.eg.
