The creation of a joint working group between Washington and Kiev for the restoration of Ukraine was announced by the US Department of Commerce on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure and the American Ministry of Trade and Transport signed a joint declaration of intentions to establish an infrastructure team between the two countries. According to the ministry, this team will “focus on the critical needs of Ukraine in wartime and the reconstruction of the future infrastructure in the post-conflict period.”
The American trade said in a statement that it is stepping up “joint efforts to facilitate the participation of the American private sector and the application of the best American and Ukrainian innovations in the reconstruction of Ukraine” and that the work team plans to hold an opening meeting at the level of work “in the coming months.”
“The two American ministries participate in the agency discussions on “the best method to launch the reconstruction process in Ukraine and its support with a focus on aiding Ukraine in restoring its infrastructure and energy resources,” the statement added.
