In the southern region of Jiusson, where local officials designated by Russia are evacuating tens of thousands of people, Russian soldiers defeated a counterattack by Ukraine, the ministry claimed.
In recent days, notably following the attack on the Crimea Strategic Bridge, the level of tension on the battlefield increased.
According to the Ukrainian Southern Operations Command, Ukraine has reclaimed control of 5 apartment complexes in the southern nation of Khaisson.
Vladislav Nazarov, a spokesman for the Southern Operations Command, stated that as of October 11, Kiev assumed responsibility over the Novovasilifka, Novenifka, Nova Kamica, Chippoca, and Shrivon complexes.
One of the four areas that Russia just added has these facilities.
Keybuson was one of the most difficult battlefields for the Ukrainians, with a slower progress compared to the successful Ukrainian attack around Kharkiv, the second largest city in the country in the northeast, which started last month.
In response to the Ukrainian army’ advancement, the Jeresson authorities ordered the evacuation of people on Wednesday.
Russia is still bombing Ukrainian military targets and energy facilities.
