Man arrested at US Capitol carrying guns in van

Today, police at the US Capitol detained a guy from Georgia who they believe had six guns in his van and was in the city to give paperwork to the Supreme Court.
On suspicion of having an unregistered firearm, unregistered ammo, and carrying a pistol without a permit, Tony H. Payne, 80, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, was detained.

He was apprehended after police closed off numerous streets near the Capitol and Supreme Court for hours and surrounded his van, which authorities claimed was parked illegally.
Payne’s van was spotted by police on Capitol grounds just before 4 o’clock (local time) as a “suspect vehicle,” according to the police.
When Payne confessed that there were firearms in the white van, police originally detained Payne and two other people. The other two individuals were let go without being charged.

Police discovered two handguns and a shotgun inside the van, according to the authorities.
According to police, the individuals detained by them claimed to the investigators that they “were come to give documents to the US Supreme Court.” After discovering “a pipe and containers” inside the van, detectives performed a thorough check of it before concluding that it was empty.
