British banks warning the Ministry of Treasury of rules that threaten lending

According to a source, 13 British banks wrote to the Treasury expressing concern that the proposed laws could prevent them from lending up to 62 billion euros (about 70 billion dollars) over the next five years.
The TSB Banking Group, Bank Metro, and Paraguayan Banking Group, among other banks, wrote to the Treasury Ministry this month to request a revision in the laws that they believe will increase expenses and limit their ability to lend, according to a report in The Financial Times.

Companies will meet with Minister of State for the Financial Services Sector Andrew Griffiths today, Thursday, according to unnamed sources cited in the publication.
According to Bloomberg News Agency, small banks ask for the regulations requiring them to issue capital that absorbs debt to be relaxed.
