The head of the UN support mission in Libya and special representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. Abdullah Pateli, received a call from Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, congratulating him on his duties from Tripoli.
According to Jamal Rushdie, the Secretary-designated General’s spokesman, Abu Al-Gheit expressed his confidence in working with Patelli to advance global and regional efforts to free Libya from the current state of political blockade by reaching an agreement on a constitutional and legal foundation built upon the results of the national elections.

They also agreed that it was crucial for the Libyan parties to be active in defending their country’s interests and using diplomatic channels to resolve the current crisis.
