Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp confirmed today, Tuesday, that Portuguese midfielder Dyou Jota will miss the 2022 World Cup due to injury.
Jota was hurt in the last minutes of Liverpool’s 1-0 Premier League triumph over Manchester City on Sunday.
“What happened to Dugo Jota? There is bad news about Dugo, that he will be absent from the World Cup because of his strong injury to a guilt,” Klopp said in the press conference of West Ham United.
“I believe it’s extremely terrible news for us and Portugal, everyone is sad for the player,” he continued.
“It will not be present for a long time, we’re talking months, and I don’t want to define a period for that,” he added.
“Cortis Jones participated in the training well, but he needs more to be ready,” Jurgen Klopp said of other team ailments.
He continued: “Chamberlain is close to returning but needs time, while Keita participated in parts of the training but not with the team.
”
“Abrahima Konati needs roughly 10 days, Mattib is still somewhat distant, and Louis Diaz is not close to returning,” he stated.
“From now on all the future matches are finals, we respect West Ham a lot, causing us a lot of issues, they truly have good players,” the speaker said in reference to the match against West Ham United, which will take place tomorrow, Wednesday.
West Ham is in twelfth position with 11 points, while Liverpool is in eighth with 13 points in the Premier League standings.
