The Egyptian Black Sands Company facility in Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate received investments totaling more than one billion pounds, according to the Nuclear Materials Authority. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is due to inaugurate the complex today.

The project consists of two factories: the first, east of Burullus, was opened with Egyptian and Australian experience in Muna Menisi, which is connected to the village of Al-Shihabia, on an area of 80 acres; the second, with Chinese experience, was opened on an area of 35 acres north of the International Road, west of the massive power plant in Burullus.

The head of the Nuclear Materials Authority, Hamed Meera, praised President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for establishing the Egyptian Black Sand Company to extract minerals from the sand that are used in many strategic industries, such as planes, dates, and fat, and said that this project improves scientific abilities to develop economic entities.

He noted that after conducting a survey, the nuclear body found numerous black sand sites, whether on the Mediterranean coast or the Red Sea. He noted that numerous feasibility studies were carried out with international businesses with the largest consulting offices of these sand and their economic effects, as after demonstrating their economic viability. The Republican decision was made to forbid the use of black sand in building projects.
