Lebanese health announces the spread of the cholera epidemic and the death of 5 people so far

According to Al-Arabiya, the Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed today, Wednesday, that the cholera pandemic has expanded and that 5 people have already died as a result.

Members of the Security Council expressed their strong support for “the stability of Lebanon, its security, the integrity of its lands, its sovereignty and political independence, in accordance with the Security Council resolutions and the statements of the Speaker of the Security Council regarding the situation in Lebanon” in a statement on the Lebanese government, calling for “the implementation of known, necessary and tangible reforms.”

They emphasised that “these reforms are important to addressing the legitimate needs and aspirations of the Lebanese people with regard to the critical security, economic, social, and humanitarian difficulties the country is currently confronting.

The members emphasised the need to “conduct a quick, independent, fair, comprehensive, and transparent investigation in the two explosions that shook Beirut on August 4, 2020,” pointing out “the importance of holding free, fair, and comprehensive elections in 2022 transparently and according to the planned schedule, in a manner that guarantees the full, equal, and targeted participation of women as a candidate and a vice.

Five individuals have already died as a result of the cholera pandemic, according to Lebanese health officials.
