Hong Kong reveals a plan to attract skills

In an effort to restore Hong Kong to its former status as a thriving international financial hub, John Lee, the CEO of Hong Kong, has unveiled a strategy to improve housing conditions and attract skilled workers to the city.

John Lee was quoted by John Lee News Agency as saying in his first political speech on Wednesday that he would lower real estate costs for the non-permanent population as well as entry visa requirements to stop the displacement of skills brought on by policies to fight the Corona virus and ease their return.

In response to Beijing’s request for reform of the infamous real estate market, which Chinese officials blamed as being the root of the city’s political unrest, John Lee proposed making real estate more affordable.
He noted several variables like “the momentum of the global economy growth” and said, “The globe is witnessing fundamental shifts that have not been seen in a decade.
