Due to a shortfall of fuel at 25% of the country’s fuel stations, France is compelled to call back some striking workers today, Wednesday, at a sizable fuel depot outside Lyon.
Approximately 23% of French gas stations, according to her, are lacking at least one type of fuel; yesterday at midday, this number was closer to 25%.
According to radio station “France Info,” the government is under pressure to resolve the fuel situation by the end of the week, when school breaks start and lots of families have trip plans. She cited a vote by employees at three French refineries in support of extending their strike today.
“We do our best to calm the situation,” the minister added, adding that fuel imports from Belgium have increased..
France is taking action to end the strike in another fuel warehouse despite the ongoing supply shortage.
