US authorities responded to the Kremlin’s denial that Russia would utilise Iranian drones to commit attacks on Ukraine.
On Tuesday, they claimed that Moscow had employed many drones built in Iran to attack Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine.
While Iranian marches were sent to Russia, according to Ukrainian officials, the balance of strategic power in the battle remained the same.
Additionally, according to current and former US officials, Iran dispatched trainers to Ukraine to instruct the Russians on how to use the marches that Moscow purchased from Tehran.
They said, according to the American newspaper “New York Times” on Tuesday, that the Iranian coaches are the Revolutionary Guards and work from a Russian military base in the Crimea.
According to Reuters, Vice Foreign Ministry spokesman Fidan Patel stated on Tuesday that Washington will continue to take “practical and firm” measures to make it challenging for Iran to sell drones and missiles to Russia. Patel also added that Washington has tools that allow it to hold both Moscow and Tehran accountable.
Patel was able to give more information about these actions during his meeting with journalists in a daily statement, but he emphasised that Washington has already placed penalties and limitations on the exports of the two nations.
Additionally, he stated that the world must view the strengthening of the alliance between Russia and Iran as a “severe threat.”
These statements come after the Russian presidential spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, announced earlier on Tuesday that the Kremlin had no information about his country’s purchase of drones from Iran.
According to Peskov, the Ministry of Defense should be questioned about this matter because the Kremlin has no information on it.
It is significant that Russia was targeted on Monday morning by dozens of vehicle bomb explosions, also known as “Kamikazi marches,” in Kyiv and the Sumi area of northeastern Ukraine.
While the Ukrainian authorities accused Tehran, with the help of Moscow militarily through these marches, Washington and West Tehran vowed to hold it accountable and impose more sanctions on it.
