Woman found dead, man missing after boat sinks on Cockeram Lake: RCMP

According to Manitoba police, the boat the two used for their fishing expedition was discovered Saturday on Cockeram Lake underwater, leaving a lady dead and a man missing.
Around 10 p.m., the RCMP received a complaint of a missing boat with two people aboard—a 30-year-old lady and a 61-year-old man—both residents of the neighbouring Town of Lynn Lake. Friday.

A search that included aircraft patrols was launched at dawn on Saturday with assistance from the Canadian Rangers stationed in Lynn Lake, the Leaf Rapids RCMP, and the Lynn Lake RCMP, according to a press release from the police department.
Police claim that when the missing boat was discovered in the lake, amateur searchers later discovered the woman deceased on Saturday evening.
According to authorities, the man is still missing.
The RCMP’s Underwater Recovery Team was on its way to Lynn Lake Monday to help in the search, police said.

While their focus remains on finding the missing man, police said the investigation will continue into the circumstances surrounding the sunken boat.
815 kilometres are travelled by Lynn Lake to the northwest of Winnipeg.
