Washington “confident” with Pakistan’s ability to control its nuclear arsenal

Following President Joe Biden’s comments about Pakistan’s capacity to manage its nuclear arsenal, Islamabad called the American ambassador home. The United States declared on Monday that it believes Pakistan can accomplish this.
“The United States is confident in Pakistan’s commitment and its ability to control its nuclear weapons,” State Department spokesman Fidan Patel told reporters.

“The United States has always valued long-term cooperation with Pakistan, and on a larger scale, the United States values Pakistan’s position as a safe and successful country,” he continued.

On Thursday, while at a special event honouring California Democratic Party donations, Biden made abrupt comments concerning Pakistan’s nuclear programme. He then moved on to discuss the difficulties facing Chinese President Che Jinping, Pakistan’s close partner.
“What I consider to be possibly one of the world’s most hazardous nations is Pakistan. Without any cohesion, nuclear weapons. ”
After these statements, Pakistan summoned its US ambassador Donald Bloom to protest.

Later, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif stated on Twitter that his country is a “responsible nuclear state,” adding that they are “confident that our nuclear capabilities have the best guarantees… We take these safety precautions with the highest care. No one is uncertain.
American officials have long expressed concern about nuclear safety if Pakistan’s political climate changes and the country’s military and intelligence services are accused by Washington of supporting the Taliban.

“I discussed the matter with the Prime Minister and called on the US ambassador . . . to take official action,” Pakistani Foreign Minister Bellawal Bhutto Zardari said during a press conference in Karachi.
And as Zardari stated, “The celebration was not official, it was not a discourse of the nation or an address before Parliament, it looked to give Washington some leeway to interpret the statement.

As a result of Biden’s lack of interest in directly conversing with his Pakistani counterparts, Zardari, who just paid a visit to Washington, asked for greater connection.
But Patel indicated that the head of the United States of the United States, Samantha Power, and the advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Derek Schullet Zara, Pakistan, since the destroyed floods hit the country.

He declared: “We value this connection highly, and we will keep up our intense involvement in it.
