On Tuesday, France will experience a national strike organised by trade unions that will affect the transportation and electrical industries, as well as government employment, educational institutions, the medical field, and some of the country’s largest private businesses.
According to the French News Agency, the country’s public transportation was affected as a result of the ongoing strike by “Total Energy” workers in the second-largest economy in the euro region, which reduced fuel supply.
Tuesday’s countrywide strike comes two days after large-scale demonstrations in the French city of Paris on Sunday, in which tens of thousands took part; in opposition to the exorbitant costs; Strikes in oil refineries that want salary increases have been going on for weeks, prompting calls for a general strike.
Numerous people protest the high prices as the French oil crisis worsens.
