German investigators favored: an explosive device behind the “Nord Stream” bombing

Yenz, the city: German investigators, in agreement with similar early findings by Sweden, claimed that the blasts that harmed the “Nord Stream” pipes in the Baltic Sea last month were caused by a sabotage work and an explosive device while investigations into the mishap are still ongoing.

According to individuals familiar with the investigation, the Wall Street Journal said that several German officials believed Russia would be responsible for the bombs despite the fact that investigators were unable to definitively identify the culprits or the group responsible for this sabotage.

A submarine is not an explosive device.
While some German officials explained that it is unlikely that the suspected sabotage was carried out by a military submarine, citing the relatively shallow water and close monitoring of submarines conducted by NATO fleets in the region, noting that one of the theories of the bombing by an explosive device was removed from a ship and then detonated from distance.

These findings followed an earlier this month Swedish probe that found the explosions that happened in late September were likely the result of sabotage, however the investigator did not identify individuals responsible.
It is interesting that, according to Al-Arabiya, numerous political figures and specialists had previously intimated that a sabotage effort may have caused the gas leaks from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipeline.

NATO also claimed that the disclosures were the product of sabotage shortly after the strikes, but it did not offer any supporting information or identify individuals responsible.
Russian emigrant
Moscow, on the other hand, denied any involvement and claimed the blasts were the result of a terrorist act that was directed against Russian interests. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that he was suspected of involved a foreign country in gas leakage from the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipeline, but he refrained from naming a specific country.

The fact that the first leaks occurred in international waters off the Danish island of Bornhol in the Baltic Sea, between southern Sweden and Poland, is remarkable. This area has long been regarded as one of the most intensively watched maritime locations in the world.

tensions are rooted in
Since months, “Nord Stream” has become at the heart of geopolitical tensions between the West and Moscow, especially after it was cut off from gas supplies from Europe, in response to Western sanctions against it as a result of the Russian -Ukrainian conflict.

The fact that both lines still carry gas, even if the tubes they are connected to are temporarily out of operation, has many government officials, environmentalists, and climate experts around the world worried.

German investigators believed that the “Nord Stream” bombing was caused by an explosive device.
