The World Cup and FIFA president, Gianni Infantino, revealed on Monday that the number of tickets sold for the high-profile event before it begins on November 20 is getting close to three million.
According to Colin Smith, CEO of the 2022 World Cup Operations, 2. 89 million tickets have already been sold for the tournament, with Qatar, the host nation, the US, and Saudi Arabia selling the most of them.
In a taped video message to the press conference, Infantino announced that 240,000 hospitality packages for the month-long event, which will be staged for the first time in the Middle East, had been sold.
Sales of World Cup tickets are about to reach 3 million.
