Tigray Liberation Front announces its willingness to respect the ceasefire decision

The Ethiopian Tigray Liberation Front declared on Sunday that it will abide by the cease-fire ruling.
We will have to engage in combat to defend our people, the front said, if the violence is not stopped.
The Tigray Liberation Front, a global coalition, demanded “pressure on the Eritrean military to depart from its area,” pointing out the catastrophic nature of the country’s humanitarian condition.

The Tigray Liberation Front stressed the need to pressure the Ethiopian government to stop the “aggression” and sit at the negotiating table, pointing out that without achieving peace in Tigray will not be peace in Ethiopia.
The Front charged Tigray-based Ethiopian authorities with crimes against humanity.

The Tigrai Front and the Ethiopian government were asked last Wednesday by the United States and other Western nations to begin peace negotiations mediated by the African Union, while the neighbouring Eritrean government was requested to withdraw its troops from the front lines.
In a joint statement, the United States, Britain, Australia, Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands voiced “grave concern” about the termination of a five-month cease-fire in late August and urged the combatants to halt their attacks.

In order to assist Ethiopia in achieving a lasting peace, she stated, “we urge on the parties to recognise that there is no military solution to the conflict and we call on the government of Ethiopia and the regional authority in Tigray to join in discussions led by the African Union.”

The emancipation of the people of Tigray and Eritrea, which have re-entered the fight in support of the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed, has drawn the ire of Western nations, which have warned of abuses by all parties.
The statement went on to say that “any sustainable settlement must involve responsibility for human rights abuses” and that “the restart of fighting in northern Ethiopia raises considerable dangers from perpetrating further human rights atrocities.”

The Tigray Liberation Front declares its readiness to abide by the cease-fire ruling.
