The Libyan Parliament Speaker discusses with the UN envoy ways to end the current crisis

Aqila Saleh, the head of the Libyan parliament, and Abdullah Pateli, the UN representative in Libya, spoke on how to resolve the country’s current issue today, Monday.
According to a spokeswoman for the Speaker of Parliament, Abdullah Blehquiq, the discussion covered the overall state of affairs in Libya as well as plans to arrange elections as soon as possible.
In December, it was impossible to hold the presidential and legislative elections in Libya.

Aqila Saleh, a few days ago, discussed the recent developments in his country with the American special envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, and the assistance of Foreign Minister Barbara Lev.
This occurred during his meeting in Cairo with US officials.

According to “Al-Arabiya/Al-Hadath” sources, the conference covered the distribution of oil income as well as the need for Abdul Hamid Al-government Dubba’s to refrain from collecting any money from the Libyan state given the expiration of its mandate.
Additionally, they emphasised the necessity of removing the Libyan Oil Corporation from the area of the ongoing hostilities.

The two American diplomats agreed to work to fight and halt the Dubai and Turkey agreement in order to avoid harm and also informed the Libyan Parliament of their condemnation of it.
Meanwhile, Al -Arabiya/Al -Hadath sources revealed that a US -European -Arab conference is being prepared on Libya to develop a plan to get out of the current impasse.

During the discussion, Saleh also discussed the challenges and barriers to holding elections in light of the current presence of the Dubai government and its support for an armed militia that obstructs the timely establishment of any elections.

In the most recent contentious developments, Abdul Hamid Al-Dubba, the president of the Libyan National Unity Government, urged all ministries, state institutions, and public bodies not to abuse any decisions or procedures made by the administration in charge of the parliament headed by Fathi Pashaga.

This was said in a statement by Al-Duba, who also proclaimed his release from any financial liabilities incurred by the Pashaga government, which he referred to as “parallel,” that might jeopardise public resources, state power, or a shift in the jurisdiction of public institutions.

These declarations appear to be in response to recent actions taken by the Pashaga government, which included its announcement that 5 regions would hold municipal council elections following a reinterpretation of those elections by the Central Committee of the Ministry of Local Government and its decision to promote 588 officers at the Ministry of Interior.

The UN representative and the speaker of the Libyan parliament discuss strategies to resolve the current problem.
