The European Union is investigating the possibility of Iran’s invasion of Ukraine

BRUSSELE – The European Union is becoming more concerned about rumours and claims about Iran’s role in the Russian invasion of Ukraine, particularly in regards to the shipment of drones to the Russian army.
Josep Borrell, a representative of the European Union’s foreign policy, stated on Monday that the Union is looking for strong proof of any Iranian involvement in Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

“We will search for compelling evidence of the involvement of (Iran in the Ukraine War),” he told reporters upon his arrival at the European Union’s foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg, adding that Ukraine Foreign Minister Dumitro Couliba will participate in the meeting.
Recently, Kyiv and some of its Western allies accused Moscow of using drones built in Iran to target Ukrainian territory, but the Iranian side has consistently refuted these claims.

With the intensification of Western and Ukrainian charges against the Iranian government by giving drones to Russia, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian reiterated his nation’s position that it does not back one party against another.
In his conversation with Borrel on Friday, the Iranian minister emphasised that the “defensive” collaboration between Moscow and Tehran has nothing to do with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24.

On October 10, Ukraine charged Moscow with employing drones built in Iran during a number of brutal attacks carried out by Russian soldiers throughout Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Zhirinovsky also said that on the same day, Russia targeted energy infrastructure using such routes.
In September, Ukraine reduced the Iranian diplomatic presence in Kyiv against the background of the issue of the Morses, in a move that Tehran regretted and considered it based on “baseless” reports.

In response to the transfer of directors to Russia last month, the US imposed sanctions on an Iranian corporation.
According to observers, the European Union will find strong evidence implicating Iran in aiding the Russian invasion, leading to more sanctions and further isolation.
Iran was involved in supporting its allies and its arms in the region and provided a number of militias with drones and ballistic missiles.

The Houthis in Yemen, the Lebanese Hezbollah group, and even the militias in Iraq used the technology of drones, threatening the security of the region.
Morocco has accused Iran of giving the Polisario Front, a separatist group, drones, even though Iran’s government has always denied these allegations.

Considering that the West has frequently threatened to impose harsh sanctions on any nation complicit in backing the Russian assault, many predict that the European Union will make fun of all its possibilities to uncover the extent of Iranian involvement.

The potential of an Iranian invasion of Ukraine is being looked at by the European Union.
