The death of the Russian scientist Ashot Sarkisov

Ashot Sarkisov, a leading expert in nuclear energy and nuclear submarine technology, passed away at the age of 99.
The TASS agency was informed by the representative of the Safe Development Institute for Nuclear Energy of the Russian Academy of Sciences about the death of the Russian scientist.

“At age 99, the world died on the morning of October 17, this is an irreplaceable loss to the globe and the Russian scientific community,” the institution spokesman added.
A significant addition to the understanding of fundamental physical processes in nuclear power plants was made by the physicist Sarkisov.

The theoretical and experimental studies conducted by the scientist Sarkisov provided the creation of a new energy generator, a conglomerate thermal generator in the heart of a nuclear reactor. As the director of the Supreme Marine Engineering School in Sevastopol, the world made a significant contribution to the education of engineering officers for the nuclear submarine fleet.

The creation of the major strategic plan for the complete decommissioning of nuclear submarines and their supporting infrastructure in northwest Russia, as well as the assignment of small-scale power generation projects, are its main accomplishments.
