Russia declares that it and the Syrian forces killed 20 ISIS in Daraa

The Russian “TASS” news agency quoted a Russian officer as saying late on Sunday evening that the Russian and Syrian forces had killed 29 extremists in an operation in southern Syria, including those responsible for the bombing of a soldier’s bus.
According to “Tass,” the operation took place in the southern Daraa Governorate, according to Mayger General Oleg Igorov.

Igorov stated in a news release that a special operation was carried out in the southern Syrian town of Jassim to “liquidate ISIS fighters” by the Russian force in charge of engaging with the security divisions of the Syrian Armed Forces.
According to TASS, the fighters took part in the bus explosion last week that killed at least 18 Syrian soldiers close to Damascus.

Igorov claimed that the bus attack’s mastermind and several individuals connected to ISIS activities in the Raqqa Governorate were among those killed during the operation.
One of the horrific assaults that have been launched against the Syrian government forces for months was the bus attack.
No one quickly took responsibility for the bombing, and neither did the Syrian government. Thousands of people died and the country was torn apart as a result of the Syrian conflict.

Since arriving in Syria in 2015, Russian military have supported the government’s effort to reclaim territory held by rebels.

The Syrian military and Russia claim to have killed 20 ISIS members in Daraa.
