Low consumption exacerbates the trade crisis in city centers in Germany

The German Trade Federation anticipates further setbacks for retail establishments due to the weakening consumer environment and increasing energy prices. The Federation is concerned about the accelerated closing of businesses in urban areas in the upcoming months.
A federation spokeswoman claimed that merchants should also benefit from the billions of euros in subsidies that the government has promised to provide to lower their high energy costs because “otherwise, we would see a catastrophe in many city centres.”

The official noted that while there are many ideas already available, there is no one recipe that can be used in all localities. He added: “In the current terrible crisis, everything has become more difficult. Certainly, the money vessels will not be full at the present time.

The German city centres’ trade difficulties is made worse by low consumption.
