On Monday, the French Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema won the Golden Ball Award for the best player for the year 2022, which is awarded by the French football magazine “France Football”, which specializes in football.
Sadio Manet of Senegal (Bayern Munich), Kevin de Bruyne of Belgium (Manchester City City), and Robert Lewandowski of Poland finished second, third, and fourth, respectively (Barcelona).
Benzema, who will turn 35 on December 19, won the European Nations League with the France team, the Spanish League, and the Champions League for Real Madrid. His prize was presented to him by his fellow countryman and former coach Zinedine Zidane, who had won the same competition in 1998. After being presented with his award, Benzema commented, “Seeing (this prize) is a huge pride for me.”

After Raymond (1958), Michel Platini (1983, 1984, 1985), Jean-Par Papan (1991), and Zidan, Benzema became the fifth French player to win this honour (1998).
In 46 appearances last season with the Royal Club, the 34-year-old scored 44 goals in all competitions, including 15 in the Champions League.
In the continental competition, he presented extraordinary levels in front of the strongest championship teams, recording the “hat -trick” trilogy in front of Paris Saint -Germain within 17 minutes in the second half in the second leg of the final price, and Chelsea in England in the first leg of the quarter -finals. In order to take the squad to the final, when he defeated Liverpool, he also scored three goals in each of the two semi-final meetings against Manchester City.
