In the Arab Republic of Egypt, “gasoline prices today” has been the most popular search term recently, particularly in the days leading up to the Automatic Pricing Committee meeting at the Ministry of Petroleum.
In light of the high prices of goods around the world as a result of Russia’s most recent war on Ukraine, the Automatic Pricing Committee of the Ministry of Petroleum announced at its previous quarterly meeting that it would increase the prices of gasoline and diesel by a value ranging from 50 Egyptian pounds to the full amount.
It is known that the prices of gasoline in Egypt will be released shortly, precisely the prices of new gasoline will be applied during the present month of October 2022, during the last quarter of this year.
1. A litre of gasoline now costs 8 pounds rather than 7.50 pounds.
2. The cost of a litre of gasoline in 1992 increased from 8.75 to 9.25 pounds.
3. Instead of going up 9. 75 pounds, the cost of a litre of gasoline in 1995 jumped by 10. 75 pounds.
4- The cost of a litre of diesel rose by 50 cents per litre to 7.25 pounds from 6.75 pounds.
With the exception of the food and electricity industries, where diesel prices were fixed at 4600 pounds per tonne, the cost of diesel surpassed 5000 pounds per tonne for all businesses.
