Following the appearance of the African Union, the rebels in the Ethiopian area of Tigray declared on Sunday “their willingness to obey” the truce.
An appeal to the African Union demanded that fighting stop right away so that peace talks could begin.
The Tigray People’s Liberation Front declared, “We are ready to respect an immediate cessation of combat activities.”
Additionally, they urged the international community to take action to stop combat operations immediately, compel the Ethiopian government to engage in negotiations, and compel the Eritrean army to leave Tigray.
