According to the Syrian “SANA” news agency, the Russian Ministry of Treasury and the Syrian Ministry of Finance signed a cooperation agreement to advance the systems used by the Syrian Ministry of Finance.
The fifth Russian-Russian-Russian-Russian meeting to follow up on the international conference on the repatriation of Syrian refugees and internally displaced people in The Conference Palace in Damascus came to an end after a working meeting that comprised officials of the two ministries.
Manhal Hanawi, the Syrian Minister of Finance, stated that the agreement helps the ministry’s work advance, particularly given the Russian experience and its cutting-edge financial system, while also highlighting the need for the Syrian Ministry of Finance to transition to a more sophisticated integrated financial management system.
Hanawi emphasised that during the ensuing period, the implementation of the terms of this agreement will begin and be put into practise in Syria in accordance with the necessary laws in order to enhance financial policy and advance the work of mathematical systems, which helps link the central treasury with the various authorities and control and rationalise public spending.
Alexander Dammov, the deputy head of the Russian Treasury, for his part, emphasised the significance of cooperation with the Syrian financial ministry starting in 2019, saying that the current cooperation agreement depends on the sharing of experiences and the growth of the two countries’ financial systems.
