Belarus: announces the arrival of the first batch of Russian soldiers to create a joint regional power

The first group of Russian soldiers who will be part of a combined force with Belarusian troops stationed in the former Soviet Republic has already been despatched.
According to a Ministry of Defense spokesman reported by the Russian “TASS” news agency, “the vanguard of Russian forces arrived in Belarus, and the transportation procedure will take several days. A little under 9,000 people will make up the entire group.

Last Monday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced the creation of a joint local force with Russia, stating that due to rising tensions, this force will protect the Belarusian border.
Russian airstrikes on Ukrainian targets had been the starting point.
Military experts continue to believe that Belarus joining the conflict is improbable since such an unpopular move may undermine Lukashenko’s hold on power.

On the other hand, Kiev will be forced to move troops from the east and south of the nation to the border with Belarus due to the presence of Russian and Belarusian forces at the Ukrainian border.
