An Iranian hostility appears without a veil in an international competition in Korea

Another young woman, “Annaz Rakabi,” who is representing Iran at the Asian climbing competition finals now taking place in Seoul, South Korea, during unabated protests that have been taking place in Iran since last September 16 by challenging the laws of the veil in public places.

My Rakabi defied a law passed in 1983 that threatened individuals who did not cover up in public with jail time and fines by making an appearance yesterday as she performs her role in the competitions.

Al-Adhama competed in previous events in the finals while wearing a hijab, but it appears that she changed her mind after being moved by the Iranian protesters and chose to remove it in order to show her support for the demonstrations.

In a global competition in Korea, an Iranian adversary appears without a veil.
