President Xi Jinping of China promised to slow down global warming in his country while giving energy security a priority as the nation struggled with a faltering economy and unrest on the world fuel markets.
In his speech, which lasted for about two hours to open the Communist Party conference, which lasts for a week, he said something that caution will govern China’s efforts to reach the peak and eventually get rid of carbon emissions, according to the Bloomberg News Agency on Sunday.
These circumspect words follow a wave of obvious energy shortage in recent years, with rising global energy prices following the Russian invasion of Ukraine that followed trade patterns.
