According to officials, the shot that killed the attacker was fired by a Connecticut police officer who was injured during an apparent ambush that also claimed the lives of two other police officers.
According to a Facebook post from Bristol police today, Alec Iurato was shot on Wednesday and killed Nicholas Brutcher when he retaliated with firearms. According to the state medical examiner’s office, Brutcher, 35, had spinal cord damage and died as a result of a gunshot wound to the neck.

After responding to a 911 call regarding potential domestic violence, Sergeant Dustin Demonte and Officer Alex Hamzy were shot and killed outside the house. According to authorities, the call looked to be made intentionally to draw police there.
About 30 gunshots, according to witnesses, were fired during the altercation.
On Friday, Iurato was let go from the hospital. In the gunfight, Nathan Brutcher, Brutcher’s brother, sustained injuries. Nathan Brutcher hasn’t been accused of playing any role in the attack.

Hundreds of people gathered outside the Bristol police station for a candlelight vigil yesterday, and the remains of both policemen were taken in separate processions to funeral homes. Before Game 2 of their American League Division Series matchup against Cleveland in New York, the New York Yankees observed a moment of silence in memory of the cops at Yankee Stadium.
According to police sources, all three of the cops were well-liked and had accolades.

Demonte, 35, was a 10-year veteran of the force and shared the 2019 Officer of the Year honour in his department. Their third child is due soon, according to his wife.
Hamzy, 34, spent eight years as a police officer in his hometown. He served as a police cadet programme advisor, just like Demonte.
Iurato, 26, who holds a bachelor’s degree in government, law, and national security, joined the Bristol department in 2018.

According to his social media profiles, Nicholas Brutcher was a divorced father of two who loved shooting, fishing, and hunting.
