US State Department: Iran is responsible for the safety of Americans held in Evin Prison

The US State Department made a statement regarding the fire that started at the Iranian “Evin” jail and claimed that Iran was in charge of ensuring the security of the Americans detained there.

Calling for their immediate release, she continued, “Iran is accountable for the safety of the Americans incarcerated in Evin Prison.”
We are following reports from Evin Prison with Urgency.

As our defended power, the Swiss are in communication with us. The safety of our citizens who have been unjustly detained by IRAN is entirely its responsibility, and they must be immediately released.
A senior security official had earlier claimed in a statement to “IRNA” on Saturday night that the thugs wing in Evin Prison had seen unrest and fighting among the inmates that eventually led to altercations with the inmates.

The jail apparel warehouse was set on fire by thugs, the security officer claimed, causing a fire.
“The security situation is now entirely under control,” he continued, “and firefighters are battling the fire.”
He said that the accident’s contributing factors were kept apart from other inmates.
Tweets on social media and videos posted by activists on Saturday’s smoke from Evin jail in Tehran, the capital of Iran, were reported.
