A senior security official had earlier claimed in a statement to “IRNA” on Saturday night that the thugs wing in Evin Prison had seen unrest and fighting among the inmates that eventually led to altercations with the inmates.
The jail apparel warehouse was set on fire by thugs, the security officer claimed, causing a fire.
“The security situation is now entirely under control,” he continued, “and firefighters are battling the fire.”
He said that the accident’s contributing factors were kept apart from other inmates.
