Tottenham defeated Everton 2-0 on Saturday in the 11th round of the English Football League, putting pressure on the league’s leaders Arsenal and Manchester City, who it had been directly chasing all season.
With a ferocious onslaught from Harry Kane, the game’s leading scorer, South Korean Hyung Min Sun, and Brazilian Richarleson, the London club took an early lead and hasn’t let up despite Everton’s retreat to the backlines.
Despite their continuous efforts, Tottenham did not actually pose a threat to Jordan Beckford, the English national goalkeeper, in the first half.
Antonio Conte of Italy waited until the 59th minute to act after the official assessed a penalty for Pickford’s foul on Kane inside the penalty area, which the latter had converted.
Four minutes before the game’s conclusion, Pierre Emile Hupeerg, a midfielder for the Danish national team, scored the second goal for London.
Tottenham increased its score to 23 points behind Leeds United-playing Arsenal and one goal behind Manchester City, who is facing its host Liverpool at the top of the standings.
Everton’s standing, on the other hand, was fixed at 10 points at position 14.
