Neymar returns to Spain to appear before the court on charges of fraud

Neymar, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, will travel back to Spain on Monday to stand trial for alleged fraud in connection with his 2013 move from the Brazilian team Santos to Barcelona.
In an alleged scheme to deceive a particular Brazilian firm that claimed to be entitled to 40% of the player’s future transfers, Neymar, his father, and the former officials of Barcelona and Santos are accused of concealing the exact cost of the Brazilian star’s transfer to the Catalan club.

Although the Brazilian grocery chain “DIS” claims to have directly acquired 40% of Neymar’s transmission rights in 2009, it actually only earned 1% of the 17 million euros that Barcelona paid SCS, despite the changeover actually costing more than 80 million euros.
Each and every defendant disputes that any infractions were made.
Neymar will be required to attend all sessions of the trial, unless the judge gives him permission to skip them, which is anticipated to last until the end of October.

It is noteworthy that Neymar left Barcelona in the summer of 2017 to join his current team Paris Saint -Germain.
