Greece: Border Guard members intercepted 92 naked immigrants

The Greek ministries of the Greek government said that 92 naked immigrants who had to cross the Evros border river between Turkey and Greece were stopped by border guards.
The accident happened on Friday, according to the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection. According to accounts, European Border Protection agents known as “Frontex” were also present on the Greek side of the border at the time.
At first, Frontex didn’t corroborate the information.

Note Metarakis, the minister of immigration for Greece, accused Ankara of smuggling immigrants across the border in a tweet addressed to immigrant men today.
He branded Turkey’s handling of the 92 migrants who were saved at the river by the Greek border guards “a humiliation for civilization” and demanded that Ankara look into the matter.
The Border Guard Police saved the persons “in coordination with Fronx,” according to the Greek Civil Protection Ministry, which also confirmed the facts.

The immigrants had no luggage and were not dressed, according to a statement from the ministry released today. Some immigrants told Greek officials that they were put into rubber boats to cross into Greece after being transported to the river on three cars for the Turkish authorities.
In a statement, the Greek police reported that some migrants had been hurt and had received clothing and medical attention.
