Algeria monitors 4 billion dollars to support basic foodstuffs

Ayman Ben Abdel Rahman, the prime minister of Algeria, announced on Saturday that the government has raised additional funds this year totaling roughly $4. 3 billion to support the cost of staple commodities and lessen the impact of their high costs on Algerian citizens due to the worldwide market.

Ayman bin Abdul Rahman, during his response to the questions and concerns of the National Assembly regarding the government’s general policy statement, said that this value represents an increase of 93% compared to 2021, which was recruited for a sum of $ 2. 27 billion. He emphasised that oil, milk, cereals, and sugar are the major staples that receive government funding.

On the other hand, according to bin Abdul Rahman, the state has set aside almost 3 billion dollars in the form of direct expenses to fight the Corona virus between 2020 and 2022.

Algeria keeps an eye on $4 billion to support essential foods.
